What is PET thermal transfer film
What is PET thermal transfer film
1. What is
thermal transfer film
The thermal transfer film is a film with a pattern pre-printed on the surface. It actually refers to a special functional printing film with a release agent, a protective layer, an adhesive and a base film as a carrier. Under the combined action of heating and pressure, the image and text are separated from the carrier base film and firmly transferred to the surface of the substrate. The base materials of the film are OPP, PET, PVC, and CP, and PET is the most widely used.

2. Material characteristics of
PET thermal transfer film:
① It has good mechanical properties, the impact strength is 3 to 5 times that of other films, and it has good folding resistance.
② It is resistant to oil, fat, dilute acid, dilute alkali, and most solvents.
③ It has excellent high and low temperature resistance, can be used for a long time in the temperature range of 120℃, can withstand high temperatures of 150℃ for short-term use, and can withstand low temperatures of -70℃, and its mechanical properties are little affected by high and low temperatures.
④ Low gas and water vapor permeability, that is, it has excellent gas, water, oil and odor barrier properties.
⑤ High transparency, can block ultraviolet rays, good gloss.
⑥ Non-toxic, odorless, hygienic and safe, can be directly used for food packaging.
Because PET film has good stability, uniform tension, and extremely small thickness deviation of the film, it is the most widely used.
3. Application of PET thermal transfer film
Thermal transfer film is suitable for hot stamping on flat, curved, special-shaped, cylindrical and conical surfaces of plastic, metal, leather, ceramic, wood and other products. It is widely used in daily necessities, cosmetics, stationery, toys, building materials, decorative materials, gifts, food packaging, signs and other industries, as well as surface printing and decoration of packaging.
For example, the beautiful thermal transfer patterns on the plastic water cups commonly seen in our lives are transferred with thermal transfer films for water cups.
4. Safety of thermal transfer film
As consumers pay more and more attention to food safety issues and the safety of daily necessities, the quality and safety of thermal transfer films have also attracted much attention in the industry. From the base film to the ink of the thermal transfer printing film, they all need to pass extremely comprehensive testing.
