What will affect the precision of injection mold processing?
When our injection molds are being processed, how can the precision management of molds be improved? First of all, we need to know which issues directly affect the precision of injection mold production and processing.
1. Dimensional accuracy
Refers to the degree of conformity between the actual working size of the parts after production and processing and the tolerance of the size of the parts.
Dimensional accuracy is controlled by tolerance size. The tolerance size is the amount of change allowed in the size of the parts during the cutting process. When the dimensions are basically the same, the smaller the tolerance size, the higher the dimensional accuracy.
2. Shape accuracy
Refers to the degree of overlap between the actual geometric shape of the surface layer of the parts being processed and the ideal geometric shape. There are 6 items to evaluate shape accuracy, such as straightness, flatness, roundness, cylindricity and line profile. Shape accuracy is controlled by shape tolerance. Except for roundness and cylindricity, all shape tolerances can be divided into 12 accuracy levels. Level 1 is high and level 12 is low.
3. Positional accuracy
Refers to the actual working position and accuracy difference between the relevant research surface enterprises of the parts after production and processing. There are eight items to evaluate the accuracy of a position information, including parallelism, verticality, inclination, coaxiality, symmetry, position, circular runout and total runout. Position positioning accuracy is controlled by position tolerance, and position tolerance can be divided into 12 accuracy evaluation levels according to different activity purposes.
Usually when designing mechanical parts and determining processing accuracy, attention should be paid to controlling the shape error in the position tolerance, and the position error should be smaller than the tolerance size.
