Injection mold production can be roughly divided into the following steps:
1. Process analysis of plastic products.
Before designing the mold, the designer should fully analyze and study whether the plastic product conforms to the working principle of injection molding processing, and needs to carefully negotiate with the designer of the product to reach an agreement. It also includes the necessary discussion on the geometric shape, specification size accuracy and appearance requirements of the product, and avoids unnecessary tediousness in mold manufacturing as much as possible.
2. Mold structure design.
A set of high-quality molds not only requires good processing equipment and skilled mold manufacturing workers, but also a very important factor is to have a good mold design, especially for complex molds. The quality of mold design accounts for more than 80% of the mold quality. An excellent mold design is: under the premise of being able to meet the requirements of the customer, the production cost is low, the processing difficulty is small, and the processing time is short.
3. Determine the mold material and select standard parts.
When selecting mold materials, in addition to considering the accuracy and quality of the product, it is also necessary to combine the actual processing and heat treatment capabilities of the mold factory to make the right choice. In addition, in order to shorten the production cycle, use existing standard parts as much as possible.
4. Parts processing and mold assembly.
In addition to giving a better structure and reasonable tolerance matching during design, the accuracy of the mold is particularly important in parts processing and mold assembly. Therefore, the choice of processing accuracy and processing methods plays an absolute leading role in mold manufacturing.
5. Mold trial.
From the design to the assembly of a mold, only 70% to 80% of the entire production process is completed. The errors caused by the inconsistency between the expected shrinkage and the actual shrinkage, the smoothness of demoulding, the cooling effect, and especially the size, position, and shape of the gate on the accuracy and appearance of the product must be tested through mold trial. Therefore, mold trial is an indispensable step to test whether the mold is qualified and select the molding process.
