1. Aluminum-plated thermal transfer - vacuum aluminum plating
The vacuum aluminum plating process in aluminum-plated thermal transfer can be combined with the aluminum plating process on the basis of the ordinary thermal transfer process to coat the ordinary thermal transfer film with a metallic luster, making the original ordinary transfer pattern look metallic. This is the process effect presented by the aluminum-plated thermal transfer film.
2. Aluminum-plated thermal transfer - vacuum aluminum plating process
Next, let's take a closer look at the vacuum aluminum plating process in aluminum-plated thermal transfer technology.
1. Overview of vacuum aluminum plating process in aluminum-plated thermal transfer
The vacuum aluminum plating process in aluminum-plated thermal transfer is a process in which the metal is melted and vaporized under high vacuum (above 10-4mba) by heating with resistance, high frequency or electron beam, and attached to the surface of the film substrate to form a composite film. It is a vacuum evaporation process.
2. Aluminum thermal transfer vacuum aluminum plating - material selection
Due to the particularity of aluminum thermal transfer (vacuum aluminum plating process), it has the following requirements for the film substrate to be plated:
1) Good heat resistance, the substrate must be able to withstand the radiant heat of the evaporation source and the condensation latent heat of the evaporation.
2) There should be less volatile substances generated from the film substrate; for substrates with high hygroscopicity, drying treatment should be carried out before evaporation.
3) The substrate should have a certain strength.
4) Good adhesion to the vaporized layer; for non-polar materials such as PP and PE, surface treatment should be carried out before evaporation to improve the adhesion of the coating.
PET film has excellent gloss and adhesion. It is an excellent aluminum film and is widely used as a base film material in the thermal transfer industry.
3. Aluminum thermal transfer vacuum aluminum plating process
The vacuum aluminum plating process of aluminum thermal transfer film generally adopts direct plating, that is, the aluminum layer is directly plated on the surface of the pet film.
1) Before aluminum plating, the film surface needs to be corona treated or coated with an adhesive layer to make its surface tension reach 38-42 dyne/cm or have good adhesion.
2) When aluminum plating, place the roll film in a vacuum chamber and close the vacuum chamber to evacuate. When the vacuum degree reaches a certain level (above 4×10-4mba), heat the evaporation boat to 1300℃~1400℃, and then continuously feed the aluminum wire with a purity of 99.9% to the evaporation boat.
3) Adjust the unwinding speed, winding speed, wire feeding speed and evaporation amount, open the cooling source, so that the aluminum wire is continuously melted and evaporated on the evaporation boat, so that a bright aluminum layer is formed on the moving film surface after cooling, which is the aluminum-plated film.
The production process of vacuum aluminum plating in aluminum-plated thermal transfer film:
Substrate unwinding → vacuum → heating evaporation boat → feeding aluminum wire → evaporation → cooling → thickness measurement → flattening → winding
