From the literal meaning of "PVC thermal transfer film", people who have not been exposed to the thermal transfer industry may think that the base film is a thermal transfer film made of PVC material. There are several misunderstandings here.

PVC thermal transfer film, the base film commonly used in the industry is PET film. PET film has the characteristics of good stability, uniform tension, and extremely small thickness deviation of the film, so it is the most widely used.

Pvc, polyvinyl chloride, English abbreviation PVC (Polyvinyl chloride polymer =PVC molecular structure), is a thermoplastic resin formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride under the action of an initiator.

According to the molding conditions of PVC material products, PVC products are divided into "hard PVC" and "soft PVC".

Correspondingly, PVC thermal transfer film can be subdivided into hard PVC thermal transfer film process and soft PVC thermal transfer film process.

1. Hard PVC thermal transfer film

Hard PVC molding conditions

1) Material pipe temperature: 160-190℃

2) Melt softening point: 89℃

3) Thermal deformation temperature: 70℃

The process of PVC thermal transfer film transfer is the process of transferring the pattern on the PVC thermal transfer film to the surface of the product through a thermal transfer machine.

When printing PVC thermal transfer film, the corresponding thermal transfer base film (usually PET film), thermal transfer ink and thermal transfer glue should be selected; during the thermal transfer process of the product, the temperature of the thermal transfer machine is controlled between 140-160 degrees.

2. Soft PVC thermal transfer film

Soft PVC molding conditions

1) Material tube temperature: 140-170℃

2) Melt softening point: 85℃

3) Thermal deformation temperature: 55℃

Compared with the molding conditions of hard PVC, the material tube, softening point and deformation temperature of soft PVC molding are lower than those of hard PVC.

Therefore, when printing PVC thermal transfer film, it should be distinguished from hard PVC thermal transfer film. In the transfer stage, the hot stamping temperature of the thermal transfer machine rubber roller is slightly lower than that of hard PVC products, and it is more suitable to control it between 130-150 degrees.
