1. PVC thermal transfer principle

2. Soft and hard PVC thermal transfer

PVC, polyvinyl chloride, English abbreviation PVC (Polyvinyl chloride polymer = PVC molecular structure), is a thermoplastic resin formed by the polymerization of vinyl chloride under the action of an initiator.

According to the molding conditions of PVC material products, PVC products are divided into "hard PVC" and "soft PVC".

Correspondingly, PVC thermal transfer can be subdivided into hard PVC thermal transfer process and soft PVC thermal transfer process.

Hard PVC molding conditions

1) Material pipe temperature: 160-190℃

2) Melt softening point: 89℃

3) Thermal deformation temperature: 70℃

The process of thermal transfer of PVC products is to transfer the pattern on the PVC thermal transfer film to the surface of the product through a thermal transfer machine.

When printing PVC thermal transfer film, the corresponding thermal transfer base film (usually PET film), thermal transfer ink and thermal transfer glue should be selected; during the product thermal transfer process, the temperature of the thermal transfer machine is controlled between 140-160 degrees.

Soft PVC molding conditions

1) Material tube temperature: 140-170℃

2) Melt softening point: 85℃

3) Thermal deformation temperature: 55℃

Compared with the molding conditions of hard PVC, the material tube, softening point and deformation temperature of soft PVC molding are lower than those of hard PVC.

Therefore, when printing PVC thermal transfer film, it should be distinguished from hard PVC thermal transfer film. In the transfer stage, the hot stamping temperature of the thermal transfer machine rubber roller should be slightly lower than that of hard PVC products, and it is more suitable to control it between 130-150 degrees.
