Thermal transfer plastic film
Thermal transfer plastic film
1. Application of thermal transfer
plastic film
Thermal transfer is a printing process that has been popular in China for less than 20 years. It was introduced to my country from abroad in the 1990s. After continuous efforts, exploration and research by peers in the industry, it has become a mature and rapidly updated printing process.
Common thermal transfer plastic film materials include films made of materials such as OPP, PET, PVC, and CP. Among them, PET and OPP films are the most widely used thermal transfer plastic films. Next, we will focus on some basic theories of PET film and OPP film as thermal transfer plastic film (base film).
2. Thermal transfer plastic film -
PET film and OPP film
1. Overview of thermal transfer plastic film
Thermal transfer plastic film (base film) is a medium material for thermal transfer process, which plays a connecting role in the entire thermal transfer process. The post-process of thermal transfer is to heat and pressurize the thermal transfer plastic film (base film) once through the thermal transfer machine, and transfer the decorative pattern on the thermal transfer plastic film (base film) to the surface of the substrate to form a high-quality decorative pattern.
2. Thermal transfer plastic film-pet film
pet film, also known as high-temperature resistant polyester film, has excellent physical properties, chemical properties, dimensional stability, transparency, and recyclability. When PET film is used to make thermal transfer plastic film (base film), it uses the characteristics of high tensile strength, good thermal stability, low thermal shrinkage, smooth surface, and good peelability of PET film to achieve the production of thermal transfer film and ensure its stable quality.
Due to its excellent and stable characteristics, pet film is very suitable for use as a printing base film for ordinary process effects in thermal transfer film. The most commonly used PET film in the thermal transfer process is a 0.02mm thick pet film.
3. Thermal transfer plastic film-opp film
Opp film, a film made of polypropylene, is scientifically called polypropylene film. It is usually referred to as pp film.
Opp film is colorless, odorless, tasteless, non-toxic, and has high tensile strength, impact strength, rigidity, toughness and good transparency. Opp film has low surface energy and needs corona treatment before gluing or printing. After corona treatment, opp film has good printing adaptability and can be printed in multiple colors to achieve exquisite appearance.
Therefore, when choosing opp film as a thermal transfer plastic film (base film), it is suitable for thermal transfer film printing on some special substrates or special process effects. Such as in-mold film, etc. The more commonly used specification is opp film with a thickness of 0.04mm.
